This position is responsible for performing high-quality IT and security technician work in the service, troubleshooting, alteration, and programming of our systems.Service Technicians support NTPC's internal and external operations by providing custom repair, installation, training, and technical advisement while onsite. Experience is preferred, but not required. If you're committed, we'll train you!
RESPONSIBILITIES

Service – Responsible for the professional service of local network, racks, computers, digital signage, access control, CCTV, and motion/intrusion/alarm systems. Additionally, train and explain solutions to partners and clients when needed.

Troubleshooting – Diagnose variable issues on our systems and provide accurate diagnostic notes through our ticketing system. Will require working on a variety of different systems.

Programming – Ensures systems are programmed to the highest standard and organized to work well for the client. Often includes customized programming to meet specific needs.

Networking – Complete high-level integration and programming of systems, using both networks and servers. WAN / LAN network knowledge is preferred.

Training – Skillfully train and mentor internal and external partners, ensuring that clients know how to use their installed systems properly, and uphold NTPC standards at every jobsite.

Communication – Respectfully communicate through our ticketing system with all clients and internal staff on daily progress and all necessary information on any service call or project.

Documentation – Complete service close-out documentation, including meetings/walkthroughs and installation quality pictures while completing all required wrap-up documents.
OVERVIEW
Service Technicians use our ticketing system and internal resources to diagnose and resolve routine problems, including software, touchscreens, phones, printers, digital signage, security cameras, burglar alarms, and access control. If an issue cannot be resolved remotely, our Help Desk will queue the ticket for Onsite Service, and the Director of Service will schedule accordingly.
Other aspects of the role include:

Working 30 to 40 hours per week (OT not guaranteed)

Working onsite throughout the DFW area

Out-of-state travel is rare but may be available for projects

Rotating on-call for weekends and after-hours

Working with third-party vendors and providers

Supporting co-workers to ensure effective sharing of best practices

Contribute knowledge through continual updates of our Knowledge Base

Using software tools to manage time and workload for internal and external tasks

Strong articulation and digital hygiene
Ideal candidates will be technically savvy, have previous IT / Help Desk experience, have a basic understanding of WAN/LAN networking, and must be open to working nights and weekends.
Typical shifts can range from business hours service calls 8am to 6pm to project work outside of service hours. Project work and calls outside of service hours are paid at time and a half. The ideal candidate will also be local to Denton and quickly pick up hands-on training.

REQUIREMENTS

Must earn Texas Private Security license within 90 days

Ability to lift/move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs

Ability to work from ladders or man lifts at extended heights

Must be able to differentiate colors

Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time

Must be comfortable completing overhead work for long periods of time

Must have a current, valid Texas driver's license and meet our company driving standards.
